- New, three-year mentored clinical research training program
- Goal of endowing specialty/subspecialty fellows with fundamental skills and investigational tools necessary for successful careers in patient-oriented research

- New, state-of-the-art Clinical Center with 240 inpatient beds and Ambulatory Care Research Facility with outpatient clinics located in close proximity to NIDDK’s research laboratories, an arrangement that fosters bench-to-bedside ideas and promotes translational research
