Zhirong Li worked for the University of Bath, England, UK, as a research officer, where his efforts were focused on computer aided design, image processing, and 3D geometry graphics. Later he spent several years in computer software industries and motor industries in the area of customer based software application in Canada and the United States.

Zhirong Li joined CEB, NLM in January 1999. As a member of the team, he is working on a large software package named MARS II, which applies image processing and artificial intelligence technology to input biomedical journal titles,authors, abstracts, afflictions, etc. into the MEDLINE database.

Mr. Li received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology, England, UK.


Current Projects

Medical Article Record System (MARS): Medical article text extraction. My responsibility induces two modules Scan and Reconcile.
