Cancer Information Service Research Consortium

Cancer Information Service Research Consortium (CISRC)



This program project grant oversees multiple field research projects utilizing the NCI Cancer Information Service network. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness of Cancer Information Service activities in disseminating health information and meeting the ever growing, wide ranging cancer information needs of the public.

Several of these research projects focus on how the CIS can utilize and integrate new communication strategies and technologies into CIS information dissemination and health education services to reach diverse audiences. The next generation of CISRC projects are designed to evaluate strategies for providing information and support to cancer survivors and their caregivers.
