S. Res. 389—Expressing the Sense of the Senate with Respect to Prostate Cancer Information

On June 23, 2004, Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-CO), introduced S. Res. 389, a resolution expressing the sense of the Senate with respect to prostate cancer information. The measure expresses in part that the Federal Government and the States should ensure that health care providers supply prostate cancer patients with appropriate information and any other tools necessary for prostate cancer patients to receive readily understandable descriptions of the advantages, disadvantages, benefits, and risks of all medically efficacious screening and treatments for prostate cancer, including brachytherapy, hormonal treatments, external beam radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, and watchful waiting. The companion measures are H. Con. Res. 405 and H. Res. 669, introduced by Nathan Deal (R-GA) on April 4, 2004 and June 9, 2004, respectively.
