H.R. 3112 — The Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act

On July 19, 2007, Representative James Sensenbrenner introduced H.R. 3112, the Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act. The bill would authorize the Secretary of HHS, acting through the Directors of NIH, CDC, or HRSA, to make awards to states and other entities for the purpose of collecting and disseminating current “evidence-based” information and coordinating the provision of support services to patients receiving a positive test diagnosis for Down Syndrome or other conditions diagnosed prenatally or postnatally. The companion measure is S. 1810. H.R. 3112 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

COMMITTEEE/SUBCOMMITTEE ACTION

April 23, 2008 - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce reported H.R. 3112 as an amendment in the nature of a substitute.
