Of interest to NIH are provisions that would establish the United States Health Service and a National Health Board. Upon enactment, NIH, AHRQ, ATSDR, CDC, and SAMHSA would be transferred to the National Health Board. It would also establish the following new institutes: National Institute of Epidemiology; National Institute of Evaluative Clinical Research; the National Institute of Health Care Services; the National Institute of Pharmacy and Medical Supply; and the National Institute of Sociology of Health and Health Care.
