Job Description
Health Scientist Administrators at the NIH are responsible for the initial administrative, scientific and technical review of NIH research grant applications pertaining to the scientific and technical fields. The duties and responsibilities of the Health Scientist Administrator include, but are not limited to; serving as Health Scientist Administrator for review groups (committees or study sections) that review basic, clinical or translational research and/or training grant applications for the Center for Scientific Review, administration of review meetings and preparation of summary statements to convey the review committee findings and recommendations; aids in developing special reports and justifications of needs, attending council meetings and responds to questions of a scientific nature; and to serve as a liaison member of review panels and participant in national conferences.
