S. 907—The Gestational Diabetes Act of 2007

On March 15, 2007, Senator Hilary Clinton (D-NY) introduced S. 907, the Gestational Diabetes Act of 2007. The House companion, H.R. 1544, was introduced by Representative Eliot Engel (D-NY) on the same day. These bills would establish an Advisory Committee on Gestational Diabetes. The bills require the Director of the CDC and the Director of NICHD, in collaboration with NIDDK, to conduct and support basic clinical research regarding gestational diabetes and obesity during pregnancy. S. 907 was referred to the Senate HELP Committee.
