OTT Welcomes a New Director of the Division of Policy

Ann Hammersla is joining the Office of Technology Transfer as the Director of the Division of Policy. Ann comes to OTT with over 20 years of transactional experience in technology transfer, including the last six years at MIT as Intellectual Property counsel. Prior to that, she was the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Director of the Research and Technology Management Office at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has worked in similar capacities at Syracuse University and the University of Rochester.

Ann served as the 2004 President of Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and the AUTM VP for External Relations in 2003. She has been on other committees or boards, including the Council on Governmental Relations (COGR), the BIO Technology Transfer Committee, National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), and the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.

Ann received her J.D. from Syracuse University and has authored numerous papers and given presentations worldwide in the area of technology transfer.
