H.R. 5229—The Pet Safety and Protection Act of 2005

On April 27, 2006, Representative Phil English (R-PA) introduced H.R. 5229, the Pet Safety and Protection Act of 2005, "to amend the Animal Welfare Act to ensure that all dogs and cats used by research facilities are obtained legally." H.R. 5229 has 24 cosigners and was referred to the House Committee on Agriculture.
