H.R. 2574The Respect for Life Embryonic Stem Cell Act of 2005
On May 24, 2005, Representative Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) introduced H.R. 2574, the Respect for Life Embryonic Stem Cell Act of 2005. The bill would require the Director of NIH to conduct animal research to “develop techniques for the derivation of stem cells from embryos that do not harm the embryo.” The bill has eight cosponsors and was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
