S. 73—National Center for Social Work Research

On January 7, 2003, Senator Daniel Inouye (D-HI) introduced S. 73, the National Center for Social Work Research Act. This legislation would amend the Public Health Service Act to establish the National Center for Social Work Research as an agency of the National Institutes of Health. This legislation would authorize the Center to establish research traineeships and fellowships, provide stipends and allowances, and make grants. S. 73 was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. (See similar legislation, H.R. 844)
