Description: Professor Aggleton’s laboratory examines the neural substrates of learning and memory, with an emphasis on the ways in which different brain regions work in concert to support episodic memory and recognition memory. His research integrates findings from animal and clinical research, and spans multiple levels of analysis, including neuropsychological, physiological, neuroanatomical and molecular approaches. Of particular interest is the interaction among temporal lobe, diencephalic and prefrontal cortex circuits in memory, and understanding the basis of diencephalic amnesia.
