The NIH Police Traffic Unit mission is to maintain the normal and safe
flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the NIH campus.
The Traffic Unit uses several means to conduct their mission, including
the use of radar speed detection devices, and vehicle
and bike patrols. When voluntary compliance is not accomplished, officers must resort to
the issuance of traffic citations, towing, and other means to assure a safe and normal
traffic flow. NIH Police Traffic Unit officers enforce State and Federal
laws and maintain strict compliance with the posted parking regulations.
