The NIH Police maintain eleven fully trained canines. The canine
teams initially undergo many weeks of specific police canine training and are re-trained on a
continuing basis. NIH Police canines have assisted numerous local and Federal law
enforcement agencies in searches and tracking and have proven to be a valuable tool
in law enforcement.
Meet Daisy: Daisy is a Yellow Labrador Retriever trained in the
detection of explosive devices. Pictured along with her here is her handler, Alan Blaum.
