The Guard Force Operations Branch of the NIH Police is responsible for providing and
administering contract guard services at specific buildings both on and off campus to
supplement security systems and/or law enforcement personnel.
The primary function of this service is to protect all Government property and
employees and visitors. Duties may include:
- controlling entry/egress
- maintaining sign-in/sign-out registers
- checking property leaving the building
- monitoring on-site security equipment and alarms
- guarding the buildings and reporting fire/safety/security
hazards to the appropriate office as necessary (fires, leaks,
floods, thefts, accidents, or property damage, etc.).
