H.R. 844—National Center for Social Work Research Act

On February 13, 2003, Representative Circo Rodriguez (D-TX) introduced H.R. 844, the National Center for Social Work Research Act. This legislation would amend the Public Health Service Act to establish the National Center for Social Work Research (and a related advisory council) to conduct, support, and disseminate targeted research on social work methods and outcomes related to problems of significant social concern. Upon introduction, H.R. 844 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. On February 26, H.R. 844 was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health.
