H.R. 716—Improved Nutrition and Physical Activity Act (IMPACT Act)

On February 12, 2003, Representative Mary Bono (R-CA) introduced H.R. 716, the Improved Nutrition and Physical Activity (IMPACT) Act. This legislation would require NIH to report on obesity research and to award grants to promote childhood nutrition and physical activity. H.R. 716 was referred to the House Committees on Ways and Means, on Agriculture, and on Energy and Commerce. (For similar legislation, refer to S. 1172.)
