H.R. 3127—Pediatric Palliative Care Act

On September 17, 2003, Representative Deborah Pryce (R-OH) introduced H.R. 3127, the Pediatric Palliative Care Act of 2003. Provisions would 1) authorize the Director of NIH to award training grants to eligible entities to expand the number of physicians, nurses, mental health and appropriate allied health professionals and specialists (as determined by the Secretary) with pediatric palliative clinical training and research experience; and 2) require the Director to provide translational research grants to eligible entities to fund research in pediatric pain and symptom management that will utilize existing facilities of NIH. H.R. 3127 was referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means.
