H.R. 2473—Medicare Prescription Drug and Modernization Act of 2003

On June 17, H.R. 2473, the Medicare Prescription Drug and Modernization Act of 2003, was reported out of the House Committee on Ways and Means by a vote of 25 to 15. On June 19, this measure passed the House Committee on Energy and Commerce by a vote of 29 to 20. H.R. 2473, which was introduced by Representative William M. Thomas (R-CA) on June 16, was redesignated as H.R. 1, sponsored by Representative J. Dennis Hastert (R-IL), which passed the House by a vote of 216 to 215 on June 27.
