H.R. 234—Human Cloning Prohibition Act of 2003

On January 8, 2003, Representative Dave Weldon (R-FL) introduced H.R. 234, a bill to amend Title 18, United States Code, to prohibit human cloning. The bill is reported to be similar to the cloning ban that passed the House of Representatives on July 31, 2001, which would have prohibited both reproductive and therapeutic cloning. H.R. 234 was jointly referred to the House Committees on the Judiciary and on Energy and Commerce.
