H.R. 1746—Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act of 2003

On April 10, 2003, Representative Nita Lowey (D-NY) introduced H.R.1746, the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act of 2003. The bill would establish up to eight centers funded through the National Institute on Environmental Health Sciences that would conduct research on the etiology of breast cancer and environmental factors that may be related to breast cancer. H.R. 1746 was referred to House Committee on Energy and Commerce. The companion measure, S. 983, was introduced on May 1 by Senator Lincoln Chafee (R-RI).
