H.R. 1385—Special Postage Stamp for Breast Cancer Research

On March 20, 2003, Representative Joe Baca (D-CA) introduced H.R. 1385, the Special Postage Stamp for Breast Cancer Research. The measure would amend Federal postal law in order to extend the U.S. Postal Services authority to issue special postage stamps to help provide funding for breast cancer research through December 31, 2005. H.R. 1385 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the House Committee on Government Reform and the House Committee on Armed Services. This bill was referred for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the respective committees. The companion measure, S. 2000, was introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and passed by the Senate without amendment by unanimous consent on December 9.
