H.R. 1138—Alzheimer's Disease, Research, Prevention, and Care Act

On March 6, 2003, Representative Edward Markey (D-MA) introduced H.R. 1138, the Alzheimer's Disease Research, Prevention, and Care Act. H.R. 1138 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Also on March 6, Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) introduced the companion measure, S. 566, to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide for Alzheimer's disease research and demonstration grants. S. 566 was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
