H.R. 1002—Training and Research in Urology Act of 2003

On February 27, 2003, Representative Jim Leach (R-IA) introduced H.R. 1002, the Training and Research in Urology Act of 2003. The bill would create a new, separate urologic division at NIDDK, direct NIH to develop a national urologic research plan, and manage Government agency activities in urology research and training. The bill also calls for the creation of 10 new, dedicated research centers to help cultivate a larger pool of talented physicians and researchers to the field. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
