Inhalation: Inhalation of dusts may cause irritation to the nose, throat, and lungs.
Skin Contact: Not a skin irritant.
Eye Contact: Not an eye irritant. Potential for slight irritation due to mechanical action if eyes are left unwashed.
Ingestion: Material is considered non-toxic. Ingestion of small amounts (1-2 tablespoons) are not likely to cause injury. Ingestion of large amounts may cause abdominal discomfort or injury.

Sodium bicarbonate, the principal constituent, is not listed as a carcinogen or potential carcinogen by IARC, NTP, OSHA, or ACGIH.

EYES: Check for and remove contact lenses. Flush eyes with clean flowing water, low pressure and lukewarm if possible, occasionally lifting upper and lower eyelids. Seek medical attention if irritation develops.
SKIN: Wash exposed areas with soap or mild detergent and water.
INHALATION: Remove from area of exposure. Treat symptomatically. Seek medical attention if person has difficulty breathing.
INGESTION: If large amounts of material are swallowed, do not induce vomiting. If person is conscious, give two glasses of water to drink. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GIVE ANYTHING ORALLY TO AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON. Seek medical attention.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: Large doses may produce systemic alkalosis and expansion in extracellular fluid volume with edema. Normal body mechanisms will handle excretion of excess material. Treatment based on judgment of physician in reaction to patient.

Handling/Disposal
|

Store in cool, dry areas and away from incompatible substances (acids). Carpet Deodorizer will react with acids to yield carbon dioxide gas which can accumulate in confined spaces. Do not enter confined spaces until they have been well ventilated and carbon dioxide levels have been determined to be safe.

Small (household) quantities may be disposed of in refuse or in sewer. If sewer is used, flush small amounts of product with a large volume of water. Dispose of larger quantities in secure landfill in accordance with all local, state and federal environmental regulations. State and local regulations may differ from federal. Be sure to consult appropriate agencies for specific rules. Empty containers may be incinerated or discarded as general trash.
