Are you interested in learning the basics of successful teaching? Are you considering a career in education? If you answered yes to either of these questions you should sign-up for the OITE workshop, ““Scientists Teaching Science: An Introduction to Best Practices in Science Education.” The workshop will provide a basic introduction for graduate students and postdoc fellows interested in understanding the basics of learning styles, teaching philosophies and course development. If you are interested in a career in education, this workshop is a required prerequisite for admission into a pedagogy course the OITE will offer next spring. Sign-up for this introductory workshop about learning styles, preparing a course, common teaching methods, enhancing your teaching effectiveness, and MORE! The course is taught by Barbara Houtz, a nationally-recognized teacher with over 13 years’ experience in training teachers. The course will be offered this fall at the Bethesda, Baltimore and Frederick campuses. Course size is limited so please register only if you are committed to attending. If interest warrants, we will make Session 4 available to Rocky Mountain Labs (send me an email directly).
