To help trainees gain a better understanding of how to make a transition to industry we will to present a program that explores: l The language of business and how academic research experience can be translated into words business understand and value l Your skill set relative to what various types of business expect and how to present your skills in the best light l Where you fit best into the business world; a brand new startup or a large, established company l And, what skills you need to be working on to gain the job positions you want
This workshop is hands- on. You work in small groups to understand how to present your skills for maximize impact. When you leave the workshop, you will take with you; l Your top five competitive strengths across various career paths l Where you fit best in the job market and in what kind of companies l A priority list of your short and long term high-impact development requirements l A Competitive Advantage Value Statement to help you land that next position
Speakers: Human Workflow System (former NIH’ers who worked in industry and now have started a consulting firm)
