NIH Graduate and Professional School Fair
The first annual National Institutes of Health Graduate and Professional School Fair will be held on July 10, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the William S. Natcher Conference Center on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. The Fair will provide an opportunity for NIH Postbacs and college students in the NIH Summer Internship Program to speak with representatives of graduate and professional programs from more than ninety prestigious U.S.
institutions. Included among registered institutions are medical and dental schools, schools of pharmacy, graduate schools, and public health programs.
The NIH Graduate and Professional School Fair will help you prepare for the next step in your career by exploring educational programs leading to the PhD, MD, DDS, MD/PhD, and other graduate and professional degrees. The day will also include workshops on writing personal statements and panels on applying to and interviewing for graduate and professional school. A group of Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) directors will discuss MD/PhD programs. Workshops and panels will be clustered in the morning; the period from 12:30 to 4:30 will be reserved for you to talk with institutional recruiters, although schools have been encouraged to staff their tables throughout the Fair.
