AVAILABILITY OF SUPPLEMENTAL POLICY OF THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE FOR 
INSTITUTIONAL NATIONAL RESEARCH SERVICE AWARDS (T32s)

National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) announces supplemental policies that all 
applicants must use when submitting cancer research training programs to be 
supported by Institutional National Research Service Awards or T32 grants.

This announcement describes the special administrative and programmatic 
requirements that must be met by all NCI applicants, as well as the peer 
review criteria that are specific to cancer research training programs.  All 
T32 applicants who are planning to submit applications to the NIH by the May 
10, 2000 deadlines and all application deadlines thereafter are advised to 
refer to this supplemental policy before preparing their applications.  All 
active grantees are advised to refer to the section on “Special NCI 
Administrative Policies” requiring timely submission of non-competing 
continuation applications, timely and accurate Statements of Appointment (Form 
PHS 2271) and Termination Notices (Form PHS 416-17), the correct stipends to 
trainees, appropriate payback follow-up and correct citizenship information
