Headline: NIH and AHRQ shifting to Electronic Grant Application Process

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) are converting to the electronic SF424 Research and Related (R&R) grant application forms.  Beginning December 1, 2005, individual research programs will begin requiring electronic submission on the SF424 (R&R) through Grants.gov, with a complete transition scheduled by 2007.  NIH and AHRQ are encouraging applicant organizations to register now with both Grants.gov (http://grants.gov/) and NIH eRA Commons (https://commons.era.nih.gov/commons/, as the registration process can take up to 4 weeks to complete.

More information on these changes is available at http://era.nih.gov/ElectronicReceipt/.
