Program Module (PGM)
Downloadable PDF Fact Sheet (346 KB)
What is the purpose?
PGM provides Program Officials (PO) access to information and documents for applications and grants in their portfolio, with the ability to execute reporting and approval transactions in real time.
What are its features?
- Quickly obtain grant status: From the Search Screen, the Program Official can quickly obtain grant status and principal investigator (PI) contact information. Each grant record in the search result also includes:
- Access to all documents in the eRA Grant Folder
- eRA grant snapshot report
- Checklist and PO approval links
- Outlook email link to PI(s)
- View all assigned applications: Selecting the My
Portfolio tab, the
PO views all assigned applications and grants presorted
according to their phase in the grant life cycle: Pending
Scientific Review; Pre-Council; Post Council; Pending Type
5s; Active
Grants and Withdrawn/Other. Records shift from page to page in real
time as their status changes, with data on each page optimized for that
life cycle stage.
- Approve competing and noncompeting continuation
awards: On
the Pending Type 5 (noncompeting continuation) page, the PO
documents the scientific progress of the grants in his/her
portfolio and approves both competing and noncompeting continuation
awards. The PO:
- Views the competing or noncompeting continuation (Type 5) application (and Population Tracking Report, if needed)
- Completes the Program Checklist, records the progress evaluation, and responds to Grants Management queries
- Approves the award
- Automatically generate report: IMPAC II automatically generates the Program sections of the Award Worksheet Report and alerts grants management that PO approval is complete
What are the benefits?
In PGM, Program Officials can:
- Quickly access complete information on a grant to respond to an investigator’s inquiry in real time
- Access information about their own grant portfolio without searching
- Assess summary statement and T5 application availability at a glance
- Customize a large number of display features separately for each page
- View applications and document evaluations and approvals from the same page
- View other PO portfolios and take actions if assigned (if permitted by the Institute or Center (IC), HHS Operating Division, or agency)
- View complete information on other applications to assess scientific or budgetary overlap
Who can use the Program module?
Program officials at select grantor agencies who have been granted access and assigned specific Program roles can use the Program module.
