Emily Dowling
Emily Dowling, MHS, is a Public Health Advisor in the Office of the Associate Director of the
Applied Research Program. She came to the National Cancer
Institute as a Fellow and served as coordinator of the Breast and Colon Cancer Family
Registries. Ms. Dowling studied at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she
received her Master of Health Sciences in Population and Family Health Sciences, and also
graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Biology and Bioethics. She
coordinates many program activities including the grants for the ARP program, serves as
project manager for the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium and the International Cancer
Screening Network, and also works in energy balance and obesity-related research.
