Socioeconomic Status and Cancer

• Ecologic Surveillance is the analysis and monitoring of health and disease outcomes for various communities and population subgroups by important social, economic, and environmental characteristics.
• National Longitudinal Mortality Study (NLMS) - National Death Record Index Linkage will allow an in-depth analysis of racial/ethnic, socioeconomic and occupational differentials in cancer mortality for the major cancer sites.
• SEER Linkage to NLMS is a pilot project under development that will link SEER to the National Longitudinal Mortality Study in order to add socioeconomic data at the individual level.
