Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)

I.  STDs can affect men and women from all backgrounds and economic levels. The estimated incidence of 15.3 million new cases per year of STDs in the US is greater than in other industrialized nations. STDs can affect both sexes, resulting in difficulties with fertility or maintaining pregnancy. Some STDs can cause cancer of the reproductive tract or result in devastating effects on the fetus or infant of an infected mother.
