How do I Apply to the NIH for my Dissertation Research?

Students with an undergraduate degree wishing to pursue a Ph.D. can apply to one of the many formal NIH-University partnership programs by requesting a formal application from the university sponsoring the program.  Student must submit an application to both the university and GPP as directed by the GPP website.

Graduate students currently enrolled in a Ph.D. training program can come to NIH laboratories to enhance their dissertation research after completing course work at the university.  A recommendation from their university mentor and identification of an NIH laboratory in which they would work are needed.  A listing of NIH laboratories and faculty currently seeking graduate students is available at http://gpp.nih.gov/Researchers/
