Eligibility: Candidates must have successfully

the postdoctoral level at a UK institute for at least three years
can all apply. Applicants must present a paper or poster or chair a
session at the conference, and must submit an application to the
Society through their university.
Financial Provisions: Airfare, subsistence of up
to £ 60 per day, and registration fees of up to
£300.
Duration: Funding is for the first ten days of a
visit where conference participation is the main or sole purpose of
visit. Auxiliary visits to scientific institutions can be included
up to a maximum of ten days although the total duration of the
visit can be longer.

Purpose: To offer a recognized first step into
an independent research career for scientists and engineers for
whom career flexibility is essential. Fellows may hold part-time
appointments for all or part of fellowship, may claim some funds
for family support when these can be justified on scientific
grounds, and may participate in a mentoring program or a network of
other fellows.
Eligibility: Applicants must demonstrate a current
need for flexible support at the time of application. Applicants
must have submitted their Ph.D. but have no more than four years
postdoctoral research by the time of award. Applicants must be a
citizen of the European Economic Area or have a relevant connection

A special time-limited funding initiative, the HCPCP fellowships will run for the last time in 2006.
Purpose: To support postdoctoral research
training with an aim of increasing research on the determinants of
morbidity and mortality and the impact on healthcare provision at a
population based level. Training should be provided at an
internationally recognized center of excellence in the
applicant’s country or abroad (except in the USA).
