The House and Senate are in session.
On September 30, 2008, the President signed into law the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance and Continuing Appropriations Act, as P.L.110-329, the fiscal 2009 stopgap continuing resolution to fund most of the government until March 6, 2009. For NIH, this CR provides funding at the same rate and under the same terms and conditions as those provided by P.L. 110-161, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2008, not including the $150 million from the FY2009 supplemental. For NIH, this bill will provide funding to NIH at the annualized rate of $29,012,308,869. [This figure is $150 million less than the FY2008 operating amount of $29,162,308,869, as it does not include that additional amount provided to NIH in the FY2008 Supplemental. P.L. 110-329.] This CR also includes emergency spending for disaster relief, funding for automakers to retool to produce advanced technology, energy-efficient vehicles, and three regular FY2009 appropriations bills-- Defense; Military Construction-VA; and Homeland Security.
