The Community Epidemiology Work Group (CEWG) is a network of researchers from 20 major metropolitan areas of the United States, established in 1976, which meets semiannually to discuss the current epidemiology of drug abuse.  The CEWG meetings and publications are supported by a contract.

Mission

  • Provide ongoing community-level surveillance of drug abuse through analysis of quantitative and qualitative research data.
  • Provide current information regarding the nature and patterns of drug abuse, emerging trends, characteristics of vulnerable populations, and social and health consequences.
