Exposure Assessment Methods

Exposure assessment research in the Applied Research Program concentrates primarily on improving self-reports and objective ascertainment of health behaviors and analytical procedures for processing reported information. Major research areas are the development and testing of innovative, technologically sophisticated tools to assess total diet and physical activity, and short questionnaires to assess particular nutrients or food groups. Additional areas of research include cognitive and psychometric research to improve questionnaire design. Instruments and analytical procedures will be made available as they are validated.
