NIH Child Care Subsidy Program

Section 643 of Public Law 106-58, the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act of 2000, allows Federal agencies to use appropriated funds that are otherwise available for salaries to assist employees with lower incomes in paying for child care provided by licensed providers

The NIH launched the NIH Child Care Subsidy program as a pilot in May 2005.

For Fiscal Year 2008, the NIH budget provides $300,000 to this program with the goal of making high quality child care affordable to NIH Federal employees with lower incomes.

The following explains the program and provides applications, forms, and contact information.
