Tribute to Congressman John E. Fogarty

John Edward Fogarty, the Rhode Island Congressman after which the Fogarty International Center is named, played an instrumental role in the growth and prominence of both the National Institutes of Health and the nation’s biomedical research community. This short video offers a brief glimpse into the life of the bricklayer’s son who eventually became one of the most influential members of Congress of the 20th century, as well as an early and vocal advocate of global health research.
