Codeword Briefing from DOD on Lieutenant Commander Scott Speicher

(Washington, DC) Congresswoman Corrine Brown and Congressman Ander Crenshaw received a Codeword Briefing today from the Department of Defense on Lieutenant Commander Scott Speicher, the Jacksonville Pilot Missing in Action since Desert Storm. With respect to the briefing, Congresswoman Brown issued the following statement:

“Today’s briefing was extremely informative, and I am pleased to see that the Defense Department has continued to work diligently on this matter. This case is of utmost importance for the Speicher family members, as well as family members of other members of the United States armed forces that are classified as “Missing in Action” in other parts of the world. As a Jacksonville representative, this case has particular significance to me personally. I have been closely monitoring the situation, and have met with Cindy Laquidara, the attorney who has been handling the case for the family. I will continue to do everything within my capacity as a Member of Congress to bring about the release of Lieutenant Commander Speicher, if it is deemed that he is being held against his will by the Iraqi government.”
