WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st)announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice is accepting grant applications for several of its 2005 Community Oriented Policing Services grants. All eligible law enforcement agencies are encouraged to apply.
The U.S. Department of Justice is accepting applications for the following grants:
1) Interoperable Communications Technology Program: Almost $100 million is available to law enforcement to improve interoperability between law enforcement agencies and other first responders. Deadline for applying is July 15, 2005.
2) Secure Our Schools (SOS) Grant Program: Almost $15 million is available to law enforcement agencies to purchase school safety equipment and technology. Deadline for applying is June 15, 2005.

The COPS office will accept electronic or paper submissions this year. |
