WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressmen Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st) will host a town hall meeting to discuss Social Security on Friday, April 8th, at 3:30 PM at the campus of Arkansas State University, Heber Springs.
The town hall will give residents an opportunity to ask questions about potential changes to Social Security as well as the impact of the budget deficit and upcoming changes to Medicare:
· There are more than half a million Social Security beneficiaries in Arkansas and millions more who will be eligible for benefits in the coming years
· The federal deficit is nearly $600 billion and is a significant factor in keeping Social Security solvent
· The Medicare prescription drug program will go into effect next year
This event is open to the public.
