Berry Retains Energy and Water, Homeland Security Subcommittees on Appropriations

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  U.S. Representative Marion Berry  (D-AR, 1st) today retained his seats on both the Appropriations subcommittees he held last year, Energy and Water and Homeland Security, during a selection process held today among the Appropriations Committee members.

Congressman Berry was first appointed to the Appropriations Committee and his two subcommittees in 2002. Berry oversaw more than $114 million in Energy and Water projects for Arkansas’ First Congressional District through the appropriations process last year alone.

“Energy and Water and Homeland Security present an opportunity to remain involved with those issues most important to me,” Berry said. “As the new legislative session begins, I will focus on urging the committee to award essential infrastructure projects the funding they require and I will continue to press this Administration to demonstrate a sense of urgency when preserving our Homeland Security.”
