This is where you’ll find in-depth descriptions of wildlife, discussions on issues, actions that you can take to help wildlife, and educational materials that teachers and group leaders can use.

Feature Species: Moose

The moose is a Canadian creature of extremes. The largest member of the deer family, the moose (Alces alces) can weigh up to 800 kilograms, have antlers spanning 180 centimetres and be taller at the shoulder than the largest saddle horse. It can also dive more than five metres for food, run faster than 50 kilometres per hour.

Learn more about the moose by reading its fact sheet, or watching a video. Also, check out its fact file in The Canadian Wildlife Federation’s Canadian Wildlife magazine.
