The papers of Bernece Berkman-Hunter (1910-1988) span the years 1910-1991, with the bulk of the material dating from 1966 to 1987. The card files and notebooks mostly contain lists of Berkman-Hunter’s artwork noting creation dates, sale dates, names of purchasers, and prices. Invoices and receipts also document sales of various artworks. Correspondence and printed ephemera relating to the exhibitions of Berkman-Hunter’s artwork constitute the exhibit files. A few pieces of her artwork appear in these papers, but the bulk were retained in the Prints and Photographs Division. The correspondence file covers both personal and business communications, while the legal papers relate solely to Berkman-Hunter’s divorce and its aftermath. A travel diary chronicles her trip to France and Italy in 1972.
