Congress Audience25 educators from around the country PurposeProvide educators with an opportunity to engage in discovery learning and to develop strategies to teach about Poetry and Literature with Library of Congress primary sources. The Institute will feature the exhibition Revising Himself: Walt Whitman and the Leaves of Grass as well as Poetry180 a program developed by Billy Collins former Poet Laureate of the United States. Educators, you will also have a chance to make the American Memory virtual collections REAL for your students. Learn to download and use images, texts, maps, sound recordings and films off line. You will be amazed by what you can do to make history "come alive" for your students.
