(a) All vessels that carry more than 12 passengers on an international voyage must have a valid Safety Management Certificate and a copy of their company's valid Document of Compliance certificate on board. (b) All such vessels must meet the applicable requirements of 33 CFR part 96. (c) A Safety Management Certificate is issued for a period of not more than 60 months.
